Finishing my family group record!

My family history files

For my beginning family history course, I was required to complete a family group record. I chose to document and verify my parents family. It was a lot of work to gather, scan in, and type in all the verified information for myself, my parents, and my siblings - but it feels amazing to have it done.

I documented all major events and LDS ordinances for each member of my family.

I felt the Spirit of Elijah and the importance of this work throughout this assignment. I love that feeling, and now yearn for it.

This family group record never will have to be researched again, because the records are accurate (proper) and consistent (faithful). About 95% of it is totally verified by primary and secondary sources.

My mother took excellent care of all records, and I am especially thankful to her for cherishing them enough to save them in pristine condition.

I also have made an inventory of all my family history records, made files for my eight sets of great-grandparents, and have begun my quest to be successful in my genealogy and family history.

This blog will record my goals, challenges, and accomplishments concerning family history.

I don't know who will be interested in this blog.

It was suggested in my course to create something like this, and so I begin..................
